2020 Mahindra XUV 300 BS6 Detailed Review
Mahindra & Mahindra is India’s oldest automobile manufacturer and worldwide famous for making good looking, reliable and affordable vehicles. It appears that Mahindra is now growing very fast and wants to increase its dominance in the Indian market by launching best looking vehicles with some enormous road capabilities. Mahindra recently launched XUV 300 which is based on Ssangyong Tivoli. The Tivoli is sold worldwide by Mahindra. You May think why we are telling you about Tivoli because Mahindra XUV 300 BS6 is a redesigned model of Tivoli to attract India buyers who wants a great looking vehicle with some best features.
The front end of the vehicle is the most attractive part. It looks like designers spent most of the time to make XUV 300 more stylish and aggressive. Like any other compact Suv, Its headlights comes with projector light, traditional turn-light Indicator and DRL setup. The use of the DRL’s on the front bumper creates an insignia of XUV 300. The chrome insert finish is used on the bumper to provide the feel of a luxury. Skid plate shows the off road capability of the vehicle. From the side view, you may notice that Suv comes with cladding around it.
The rear wheel arches are slightly bigger than the front which helps to improve the design. Dual-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels under the wheel arches comes fitted with a 215/55 mm R17 Tyre size. It comes fitted with all wheel disc brakes to reduce stopping distance and increase driver confidence on the vehicle. The rear end of the XUV 300 is not that much eye catching like front end. Rear end comes fitted with Led tail lights setup, rear bumper with Skid plate and rear parking sensors.
The Orvms comes fitted with LED Turn Light indicators. Heating system is also installed to ensure that the mist can be easily removed so that your rear view vision will not get affected while driving in foggy days.
Mahindra XUV 300 BS6 is powered by two different BS6 engines which are 1.2 Litre petrol engine and 1.5 Litre Diesel engine. The 1.2 Litre 3 cylinder Variable Geometry Turbocharged petrol engine produce peak power of 110 Bhp at 5000 Rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 2000 Rpm. Another 1.5 Litre 4 cylinder Turbocharged Diesel engine produce 115 Bhp and 300 Nm of Torque. The petrol engine is only available with 6 speed manual gearbox and 1.5 Litre diesel engine is available with 6 speed manual and Automatic gearbox. The dimensions and capacity of vehicle are 3995 mm in Length, Width is 1821 mm, Height 1627 mm, Wheelbase 2600 mm, Ground Clearance 180 mm, Bootspace 257 litres, Fuel Tank Capacity of 42 litres.
The front seats comes with a bucket style which provides adequate support even when the vehicle is moving at a high speed on the corner. The cabin comes with dual tone color theme. Soft Touch materials are also used by company inside the cabin. The centerpiece of the dashboard looks similar to the Tivoli dashboard. It comes with similar features like auto climate control with dual zone climate control and infotainment system. Between the front seats two cup holders and armrest is placed with storage space. The rear seats too offer decent amount of space for passengers like the front seats. The Rear seat also comes with cup-holder space which is integrated in the center armrest.
The common features which you will notice inside the cabin are all headrests comes with height adjustment, each door comes with bottle holder space, infotainment system speaker on each door and all doors comes with soft touch elements. The front seats pockets are replaced with bungee cord which looks stylish. Features which makes vehicle feel luxurious are Sun-Roof, Dual Zone climate control with Auto Climate control and all headrests comes with height adjustment.
The 7 inch touch screen infotainment system work smoothly and comes with all kinds of features like USB, AUX, Navigation, Bluetooth, Apple Car play , Android Auto, Radio, iPod Compatibility and Voice Command. 6 speakers are installed around the cabin to offer best sound quality.
Mahindra XUV 300 BS6 earned 5 Star Safety rating in the Global Ncap Crash test. The vehicle comes with safety features like 7 Airbags, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Control, Traction Control System (TC/TCS), Front Rear Parking sensors, rear view parking camera, Rain sens wiper and Auto headlight high low beam feature.
