2020 Renault Triber Detailed Review
A few years ago almost every automobile car manufacturer in India was focusing its attention on the Suv segment as they believed that the Suv is the best option for the Indian market. But after the launch of Toyota Innova in India and its continued success in the country the other companies got convinced to make their best MPV for India. Companies were trying to provide best-in-class feature, luxury and comfort in their MPVs. But still no one is paying attention towards buyer who wants a good MPV in the low price category and comes with all kinds of features in the vehicle. But Renault did not make that mistake and turned its attention to buyers who want a lower price mpv, which includes all kinds of features. Renault then launched its Triber in the Indian automobile market for a low-budget buyer. After the launch, Triber become a game changer for the Renault which helped the company to attract more buyers towards its MPV. While Renault is not calling the Triber a MPV and the fact is that the car is directly going to compete in the Mpv segment.
When it comes to the look of the vehicle Triber is cleverly designed and longest wheelbase in the sub 4 meter class segment. The company used a lot of chrome treatment, roof rails, large wheel arches, skid plates on the front and rear bumper and body cladding gave the vehicle a rugged look. Triber is based on the modified version of the Kwid CMF-A platform. Chrome inserts have been used in the front grille and around the DRLs that helps to enhance the design elements of vehicle. The skid plate at front with 182 mm ground clearance gives the vehicle a Mpv look and 15-inch alloy wheels that make the vehicle attractive. The rear tail lights looks like inspired from the Renault clio tail lights which gives the triber a premium feel and provide better visibility of vehicle at night for other drivers.
The Renault Triber is powered by 1.0 Litre inline 3 cylinder Bs6 petrol engine which produce 72 Bhp of power and 96 Nm Of torque. The engine is mated to 5 speed manual gearbox and ARAI claimed mileage of 20.5 Kmpl. It is having total fuel tank capacity of 40 litres, ground clearance of 182 mm, tyre Size 185 / 65 R15 with Alloy Wheel , boot space 84 litre with all row active and after folding third row its Boot-space increased upto 625 Litres.
The interior of the Triber is well designed from front to rear seats and the third row having decent amount of head & leg room space like first and second row. The dashboard is very well designed that it does not look bulky from the front and second row. At the co-driver side on the dashboard two storage spaces are provided that shows how well efficiently company built the vehicle from inside. The thick bar of faux metal on the dash add clout and dual tone theme that gives a premium feel. But there is no soft material used inside the vehicle which is little bit disappointing. The cool box is placed between the front seats which facilitate the second row passengers to access easily and has a storage space for holding a 1 liter water bottle inside. All four doors comes with bottle-holder space and black piano finish given on the door side hand rest which looks attractive on the door. AC vents for the second row are available on the B pillar with air flow adjustment and like the second row, third row also has adjustable AC vents on the roof and also every row having charging points.
Its 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system comes with all kind of feature like Aux, USB, Android Auto, Apple Carplay, Voice commands, navigation, phone, average fuel consumption, Average speed in one trip, driving behaviour and acceleration behaviour. Its RxZ variant comes with keyless entry and engine stop/start button. Engine stop/start button is placed below ac control knobs. The seats offer comfortable cushioning for all passengers and all seats comes with height adjustable headrest which is a good feature in this price range.
Renault Triber comes with Safety Features like ABS, EBD, 4 Airbags, Rear view Parking Camera, Parking Sensor, Rear Defogger with wiper and washer. The top selling variant of Renault Triber is the RXL variant and RXL ex-showroom price in Delhi is 5.74 Lakhs INR.
