2020 Hyundai Aura Detailed Review & More
Hyundai launched its all-new compact sedan Aura which is originally designed for the Indian market. Aura is going to be directly compete with its biggest rival Maruti Suzuki Dzire which is holding 50 percent of market sale in compact sedan segment and Hyundai wants to cut sales of Maruti Dzire with the help of newly launched Aura. The Hyundai Aura from the front looks almost inspired by the grand i10 Nios and it’s hard to tell the difference between the Nios and Aura. Some differences between the two cars from the front end are the different design of front grille and the Dual DRLs placed on either side of the grille. It also appears that Hyundai has extended the length of the Nios to make compact sedans Aura. It is very common to say that not only Hyundai did this to its hatchback but also some other car-makers did with their hatchback like Tata Tiago into Tigor , Maruti Suzuki Swift into Dzire and Ford Figo into Aspira. But still the Hyundai Aura looks aggressive from the front end with its swept-back halogen headlamp and bonnet with crease line. When going to the rear of the vehicle it looks completely different. The lines coming from the roof mix in the boot and neatly end up in the duck tail spoiler. The Aura’s rear design doesn’t look too aggressive like the front end. Whereas LED taillights look great starting at the top of the boot and going around the light and then finishing at the boot door chrome inserts with piano black finish. The piano black finish on the C Pillar creates the effect of a floating roof.
The Hyundai Aura is available in three different engine options that are 1.0 litre Turbo charged petrol engine, 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and 1.2 litre turbocharged Diesel engine. The 1.0 Litre 3 cylinder inline turbocharged petrol engine produce 99 Bhp of power and 172 Nm of torque. Another 1.2 Litre 4 cylinder inline petrol engine produce 82 Bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. The 1.2 Litre Turbocharged diesel engine produce 74 Bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque. The all engine options are mated to 5 speed manual gearbox and optional smart Automatic gearbox. The Aura comes with wheelbase of 2450 mm, Fuel tank capacity 37 Litres, boot-space of 402 litres bigger then Maruti Dzire and alloy wheel with 175/60 R15 inch tyre size.
The interior of the Aura is almost identical to the Nios interior. The only difference is the trim above the Glove-box with satin bronze finish and only red inserts in 1.0 L turbo variants on the front driver and co-driver side air vents. The front seats are well supportive comfy to the body and the front row has huge leg & head room space. But they do not have adjustable head rest which is disappointing for us. The second row comes with a rear AC vent and 12 volt power point below it, center arm rest and adjustable head rest. All four doors come with dual tone color finishes, infotainment system speakers, 1 liter water bottle holder and company how ever managed to reduce hump on the floor in the center. Top end variants like Sx + and Sx (O) come with auto climate control, 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Aux, Usb, Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple Car Play, navigation and special features like DRVM (Driver Rear View Mirror).
Hyundai Aura come with safety features like ABS, EBD, 2 Airbags, Rear Defogger, DRVM, rear parking sensors and rear view parking camera.
Hyundai offer 2 years/ unlimited kilometer warranty on Aura.
